The decline of civilizations and empires, particularly Rome, was signaled by five patterns of domestic behavior:
1. The breakdown of the family (low rate of marriage, rise of divorce, acceptance of homosexuality, Feminism, and lack of respect for parental authority).
2. Increased taxes and spending on so-called public entitlements. (New Deal, Great Society, teachers unions, mandatory healthcare, Wall Street bailouts, and the modern Democratic Party)
3. Obesssion with pleasure and entertainment (People Magazine, TMZ, Hollywood).
4. Building of great armies and entabglements with foreign affairs (Neo-Con foreign policy, Clinton /Obama peacekeeping forces)
5. The exclusion from the public square, mockery and collapse of Religion. (Happy Holidays vs. Merry Christmas debate, Bill Maher)
